Happy New Year!

As I’m writing this, it’s around 30 minutes before the start of the new year.

2018… has been hell for me. It’s quite possibly the one year where I found myself to be at my absolute lowest, so much so that it’s led to many sleepless nights. I nearly lost most of my friends from uni, got cheated on, ended my first job on bad terms (I’m employed elsewhere as of now) and so much more. However, I don’t want to appear vitriolic and overly negative, so I’m not going to dwell on all the dreadful fates that this timeline has bestowed upon me. Most of you out there probably feel the same way about this year and more negativity isn’t going to help. If anything, this year has inspired me to want to better myself as an individual. So far, I’ve opened myself up a lot on a more social level, I picked up photography as a hobby, I finally started writing the first few chapters of a novel I’ve been planning for almost a decade now, and I’ve managed to kickstart this blog as a personal project of mine. As of right now, it’s a good start and I pray that 2019 ends up being far better in the long run.

So, here’s to what could potentially be a decent enough year, filled with wonder, joy and contentment all around.

As for what I plan on doing next for this blog:

I’m going to be releasing my “tops of 2018” list sometime in January. Yeah, yeah, I know. It’s mainly because I’ve been putting it off due to not having seen enough movies, anime, tv shows or whatnot during the year. So hopefully by the time 2019 has reared its ugly head, I’d be able to finish up my backlog and get myself cracking on this upcoming post. So far, I’ve planned to release it as two separate posts, one on movies and the other on what I think are my personal favorites out of the various media I’ve consumed.

I’m also going to be releasing an entirely new blog using the WordPress platform. It’s going to function as a travel blog of some sorts, with a particular focus on the vast numbers of photographs and places I’ve visited in the past couple of years. Starting off, I’m itching to record all the majestic locales I’ve ventured into during my stay in Thailand. Really, you should all come to check it out, it is an absolutely fantastic country to travel to on your holidays. Plus, you should really check out my Instagram for more lovely photos I’ve managed to snap over there.

  1. Belated Happy News Year! I already like those pictures you post on Twitter of your travels in Thailand so I’ll greatly enjoy seeing more vistas. It’s nice seeing a different side of Thailand that I don’t see much other than their movies. Good luck on that novel. From what a ghost writer friend tells me about his experience in the field it’s just as equally rewarding as it is frustrating.

Good luck in 2019 with everything!

    1. Thanks, Arsene, happy belated new years to you too!

Finishing my first novel is definitely going to be a huge goal I’m working towards this year and I’ll be sure to touch upon a lot of the challenges I’ve faced on my blog and twitter account. If anything, it’s really frustrating for me to come up with a particular plot and setting and actually stick with it.

Thailand’s a fantastic country. I’ll definitely post more pics online once I come across some good ones!
